		NINJA NIGHT
In-house events build team spirit and are just plain fun! Company-wide events offer you an opportunity to further develop your techniques while gaining a stronger understanding of and connection with the United Studios family. Thousands of students from all over the country participate in our company-wide events, and you are sure to see familiar faces from one event to the next. 	NINJA NIGHT Our young students love Ninja Night! We open the studio for a party and optional sleepover once every three months. The party includes loads of video games and board games, a movie, great food, and on special nights such as Halloween, costume contests and other fun activities. Talk to an instructor to find out when the next Ninja Night will be.

	TOURNAMENTS USSD hosts its own tournaments so that students have an opportunity to compete and meet other students from all over the country. Our tournaments focus on the concept of freindly competition and are meant to help each individual grow. The confidence boost you will get from performing a Kata in front of the judges and your peers is huge! Plus, by handling the adrenaline rush that comes from somewhat stressful situations like this, you can get a feel for how you would respond if put in a true self defense situation. 	SEMINARS United Studios of Self Defense hosts seminars throughout the year. These special events allow you to learn from the Masters and meet other students from all over the country. We were lucky enough to have the Shaolin Monks of China available for a seminar in August 2007. Students at the seminar learned Shaolin forms from the monks and were visited by Professor Mattera and Grandmaster DeMasco. These are once-in-a-lifetime events, so take advantage of as many as possible to take your training to the next level.

	BIRTHDAY PARTIES Experience a one-of-a-kind karate birthday party at our safe and friendly studio. Your child will have a blast learning martial arts and playing games with their friends. What is included? 60-minute action packed party in our martial arts studio A karate uniform and belt for the birthday boy or girl Karate headbands for all Karate patches and stickers as awards for party games Balloons and decorations $300 gift certificates good for one month of training for all party attendees How do I get started? Call or email our studio to schedule a time to meet and discuss your perfect party. We customize every party to the birthday boy or girl’s wishes. We offer a complimentary 30-minute private lesson in the weeks leading up to your party to go over different party activities and martial arts themes, then have your birthday boy or girl help plan the perfect party. Some party choices are: Which of the five Shaolin animals does your child like most: Tiger, Dragon, Leopard, Crane, Snake? Each animal represents different characteristics that can be highlighted in your child’s party. Does your child like to kick, punch, or roll? We can customize the party games to incorporate your child’s favorite martial arts moves. Does your child like to be the center of attention, or is he or she a little shy? Our instructors evaluate the best way to involve the birthday boy or girl in a way that is comfortable for them. Outgoing children may want to run some of the games or demonstrate a technique in front of everyone, while a shy child will be excited by being the instructor’s assistant and having a special role in each activity. Will you serve cake at the studio? If so, we can plan to prepare a space to sing Happy Birthday, blow out the candles and enjoy treats after the exciting party. What does it cost? Our standard karate birthday party is 60 minutes in length, with 20 or fewer party attendees, and includes all of the items listed in the section above. For only $100 your child can have this one-of-a-kind birthday party and the awesome memories that come with it. Speak with an instructor if you would like to add more time or more guests to your party.

	DEMO TEAM USSD Team Poway is proud to share our skills with the community,. Several times during the year, a skilled demonstration team participates in various community events such as Poway Days, school assemblies, Midland Fair, grand openings, open houses and enrollment events.
